National Arbor Day Foundation
Heflin has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor
Day Foundation to honor its commitment to community forestry.
It is the fourteenth year Heflin has received this national
recognition. Heflin has met the four standards to become a
Tree City USA community: a tree board or department, a tree
care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program,
and an Arbor Day observance

Heflin is ‘”GOING GREEN”
Thanks to Forte Power Systems, two recycling bins are now located in Heflin. One bin has been placed in front of the fence at the Street Department on Highway 46. The other bin is located in the parking lot of the city park on Evans Street. The bins can be used for plastic bottles, aluminum cans and clean paper which includes catalogs. A box is also available in the lobby of Heflin City Hall for rechargeable batteries and used print cartridges.
