Mayor of Heflin
Bio
Mayor Anna Berry is serving her second term as mayor.
After 30 years of service, she retired as vice president and treasurer of
Southwire Company, Georgia based wire maker.
Since becoming mayor is 2004, Mayor Berry as held the following board positions:
Two-term Chair of the East Alabama Regional Planning Commission
Regional Co-chair of the Alabama Rural Action Commission
Vice –Chair East Alabama Rural Planning Organization
Executive Committee member for the Alabama League of Municipalities
Outstanding Mayor of the Year – Alabama Communities of Excellence
Board Chair Heflin Arts Council
Leading Edge Institute Board Member (college women’s leadership program)
Mayor Berry was instrumental in forming the Heflin Arts Council and the Cleburne County Leadership Program.
Under her administration, the City of Heflin has completed phase one of a downtown revitalization project and the renovation of Ross Park in front of the Courthouse.
The City of Heflin has been honored for its innovations in recreation and tourism by the Alabama Community of Excellence program for the City’s disc golf and field target programs.
She is married to Glenn Berry and is the mother of Gabriel.
