National Arbor Day Foundation
Heflin has been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to community forestry. It is the fourteenth year Heflin has received this national recognition. Heflin has met the four standards to become a Tree City USA community: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance.

Annual Membership Drive
The Heflin Arts Council is funded through membership dues, grants, and special events. Your $25.00 family membership will go a long way to support the Arts in Cleburne County. Send requests or membership dues to Heflin Arts Council, P.O. Box 715, Heflin, AL 36264.


Adult Basic Education
Classes meet Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Classes are FREE. You must be 16 to enroll. Sixteen and Seventeen years olds must have a withdrawal slip from the last school attended. You must also have a social security number. For information call 256-835-5462

Rules, Regulations & Guidelines For Facility Rentals

$100 per 5 hours - $50 cleaning deposit

Hours of Operation
Monday-Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Dates are reserved on a first come first serve basis. You must be 21 years of age to rent any facility, and you must provide adult supervision for groups 21 years of age or younger.

Rent & deposit must be paid in FULL two weeks prior to your event. In the event of a Cancellation, ALL deposits will be forfeited.

The Community Arts Center is closed for all major holidays. Reservations are made when not in conflict with department conducted programs.

Rental area is defined at a FOUR WALL AREA, meaning that your guests and its functions are to be confined within the room that is designated on your rental agreement. Please have courtesy for the other renters; we will expect them to do the same for you.

Functions lasting before or after regular operating hours shall result in an additional charge of $10.00 per hour or any portion of an hour.

At least one Community Arts Center employee shall be on site during the duration of any rental.
